Crown Mountain
2013-March-29
TRIP IS FULL. WAITING LIST AVAILABLE.
Difficulty: SUB-TECHNICAL FULL-DAY TRIP
* Estimated Time: 11hrs
* Believe it or not, but some people (guess who they are?!) have asked me to organize this trip, so it has now been posted.
* Apology if not everyone gets to go on this one: your safety has always been and will always remain our #1 priority (if you have never been to mt. Harvey or Brunswick in winter OR you have never met/hiked with organizer you most likely will need to skip this one )
:!: For your safety group size is limited.
Details
An epic trail to hike, with beautiful forests, rugged cliffs to admire, and boulder fields to negotiate. All topped off with some fine summit views. A real wilderness experience close to the city.
As with all North Shore Trails, it becomes far more difficult in winter, with a number of potentially dangerous traverses and avalanche hazards in certain conditions. Be knowledgeable and prepared: ice axe, crampons would be mandatory and more gear is sometimes required.
Mandatory Gear: crampons with front points, regular ice ax, headlamp, extra emergency dry layer, medical kit, helmet, climbing harness
