Back by popular demand: The Fascinating World of Bears. David Cook, biologist
and board member of the North Shore Black Bear Society, has been studying the
feeding habits of black bears on the North Shore. We mentioned this talk a few
weeks back but it proved so popular that it's being repeated.
When: Thursday August 15th 2013, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Where: Parkgate Branch of the District of North Vancouver Library in the
Parkgate Village Shopping Centre located at the corner of Mount Seymour Parkway
and Mount Seymour Road.
What: A presentation about the natural history and biology of the 8 species of
bear that presently inhabit the globe as well as two recently extinct species;
the European and the Florida Cave Bears. The presentation will conclude with an
account of black bear management on the North Shore by Christine Miller, the
North Shore's Bear Aware Community Coordinator.
