Pic 2 is the backside of pic 1. Except climbers, hikers go up from this backside. Still, the slope is up to 60-deg and hikers have to hold a cable to climb up about 300m (900ft). There is only one cable. One side for people to go up and another side is to come down. It is OK to go up if u have not-too-weak-hands. However, it is much worse to come down. The right way to come down is to head up and back down. I was head down when I came down. I was very scary then even I used to climb tree/chimney when I was a teenage. U will never forget what u have accomplished there.

Pic 1 is the typical model to show how the glacier smashed the rocks million yrs ago. There is an exhibition room there to show how glacier did it, good to learn.
The pix were about six or seven yrs old. The best time to go there is May/June/July. It is too cold before May and there is little water at falls after July. |
