Hi 大红
First of all, Welcome.
This is a very good site. Many of the hunters here are very generous in sharing their experience. And they put alot of empharses on safety. Which I like most.
What I hope to see more though, is they post more pictures of their trips. They don't have be with an animal. Just to share with others their hunting environment. Like our hiker friends in this forum.
I admire you being able to hunt all year long. Over here, in some place, rifle season for deer is only 2 weeks.
I don't think temperature is an issue for hunting. We have cold temperature here. Actually we don't do rabbit hunting unless there are snow on the ground.
Based on the rifles you bought. It seems you like the sniping feel. They are popular military rounds and of course, for accuracy, their barrels are heavier. (I understand your rifles are hunting rifles. There is nothing wrong with them, they have their purpose.) Many police rifle are built from hunting rifles with a bull barrel. Example, Remington 700 Police.
Personal opinion, the best way to select a rifle, is match them to the animal you are going to havest (caliber selection). There are rifles which are built for hunting and carry around. (design selection)
It seems lot of people like Sako and Tikka. Tikka is the lower end of Sako. Same company. They are very accurate. Of course, they have heavy barel models too.
Well, just some suggestion. |
