We parked just below the barricade that is 50 meters beyond the Mamquam main, Milepost 5. Go right at the first junction about ~100m from the car, about 2km up, go left @ the second junction. There are no major forks requiring decision making from the second junction up (only a minor spur road on left after ~3 km, ignore it). At ~1175m elevation, it climbs right towards Ray Creek and follows it around 1200+m where is clear-cut area. When we got to N 49 41.575 W 123 03.774 around ~1170m, I made a small mistake, we went up into the forest then walked across and followed the creek and walked across slopes (highest point we got there is 1372m, but it's useless elevation gain). Although our route was parallel to correct route, we were higher. We soon noticed the problem and drop to the correct route after walking 1.3 km from our wrong decision point. From there it was very easy to reach the col, just follow the creek, go straight toward the col. Once u get to the col, the view should be great, but we were unlucky, it was foggy most of the day. The route to the south summit (Mt. Mulligan) from col is obvious and easy if the visibility is good, anyway the short open ridge to the summit is very narrow.
On our half way back, we finally got reward... the views of Squamish we saw were Fantastic!
By the way, I'd like to thank two CT'ers Marjan and Alex for joining us. They two are very good hikers with lots of experience and thanks for breaking trail for us.
