On this day, October 18, 2017, we reached the summit of 大峰 (5,025m) in China. It was a high-altitude endurance test, but not particularly difficult—it was classified as a class 2 climb and felt similar to completing the Grouse Grind. On the flight back home, I asked Vera, "Do you want to climb Denali?" She replied, "Where is that?" I said, "In Alaska. It’s the highest peak in North America."

DaFeng (5,025m) was our 1st peak above 5,000m
