Hi Lulu, The road to Jones lake is accessible to higher clearance two wheel drive vehicles only if the tractor has plowed the road in the morning. Otherwise most 4WD vehicles including small SUVs can make it up. The lower sections are the worst because they get alot of holes forming in the road from the fisherman going up early in the morning. The fork for East and West sides of the lake is obvious. Take the east left fork.
As Lynn says the route does have alot of Alder in the beginning. We walked up it for quite a while when we fished the lake at the end of th road.
