A dry, blocky and impressive looking summit at the head of the North Branch of Cayoosh Creek. These days, the peak is most commonly approached from the Duffey Lake Road, following a good trail into Marriott Basin (Grid 375860 on 92 J/8). Marriott Basin provides open and pleasant rambling in summer and in recent years, has been the site of two BCMC Christmas sled camps. The lakes are swimmable in August and early September. An ideal weekend objective. Marriott is the highest peak in the Western Cayoosh.
History: Named to remember RCAF Flying Officer Terrence James Marriott, J8641, enlisted at Vancouver; serving with 511 Squadron when he was killed in action 23 March 1943 (circumstances not cited). With no known grave, F/O Marriott's name is inscribed on the Runnymede Memorial, Surrey, UK, panel 174.

Mount Marriott, the highest peak in the Cayoosh Range, is mostly composed of boulders and scree. This picture was taken during an attempt of the summit from too far north.
