踏入茫茫雪野 - 1月31日Mt. Outram雪鞋行小記

近期較忙, 已一個月沒有出外活動了, 上週末有空便跟lulu往Mt. Outram去.

往Manning Park的路程遙遠, 週六清早06:00h一行11人便準時從Burnaby出發, 約08:00-08:10h全體到達Mt. Outram的停車場外. 停車場在冬季關閉, 車只能停在Hwy 3旁. 08:25h便浩浩蕩蕩地從Trailhead出發.

當天的天氣比預期中好, 沒有下雨, 天陰有霧. 山徑的前段是泥路, 路標清楚, 偶有薄冰, lulu他們的小型冰爪 (Microspikes)大派用場, 穿帶也很方便, 看來我也要增添這個裝備了 (背包是越來越沉了...... :roll:). 近期的天氣暖和, 雪綫很高, 約走到6km處才開始有硬雪, 我們都換上雪鞋, 路上的積雪頗深. 過了雪封的Seventeen Mile Creek後, 在夏季時是沿着山坡走之字形迂迴上山, 因路程短, 在冬季直接往上爬更好走一些, 不用多次橫過雪坡. 約12:00h休息用午飯. 回想去年夏季來訪是一片花海草甸, 冬季的雪景霧海是另一種美.

小歇過後12:35h繼續往山上的小湖進發, 13:10h到達小湖邊. 只見天地一色, 往Mt. Outram山頂的山脊被濃霧罩着, 地上是一片暟白, 小湖被埋在積雪下, 飄雪紛飛. 如此氣候不較合登頂, 決定小休過後便回返. 大家的興致不減, 拍過照, 看霧景, 13:55h踏上歸途, 約17:10h回到停車場. 最後回Burnaby FB, 總結了這次Mt. Outram冬季之旅!

Thank you Lulu and everyone for a nice trip and a nice day. I started a TR yesterday but when I went to upload one more picture the server timed out. :( Thank you Jinsi for taking the lead and doing a report. It was surprizing to see how high the snow line was up on the mountain.
