Search and rescue crews on Cypress Mountain are hoping two rescue helicopters will be able to fly this morning to help them in their search for a missing snowboarder.
North Shore Rescue was still looking for 22-year-old Danny Epp at press time last night. It's believed the Abbotsford resident got lost after going out of bounds on Sunday.
The weather hampered rescue crews early on, with fears of an avalanche caused by a heavy snowfall holding back about 35 volunteers. But the snow became more hard-packed by yesterday afternoon, and authorities think better visibility will allow helicopters to be used today.
