Brandywine Mountain is a fantastic scramble. The view from the south ridge are spectacular; glaciated peaks and jagged spires stretch as far west as the eye can see. The beautiful Brandywine Meadows make a good campsite for those interested in staying overnight; however, this trip feasible as a day trip from Vancouver for those with less time. This trip has almost no exposure or tricky scrambling and the routefinding is fairly straightforward. The route ascends the south ridge of the peak,which is accessed directly from the north end of the meadows.

By one account, the name of the mountain comes from a wafer between two members of a railway survey party in 1910. A bottle of brandy was bet against a bottle of wine over the height of what is now known as Brandy falls,which was measured with a chain.

对讲机频道：6-6（6主频道，6子频道）

必备装备：
1> 一對登山杖加baskets
2> 防水Hiking boots
3> Gaiters, 防湿鞋湿裤又能防脏

其他物品:
1>  lunch & snacks
2>  2升水
3>  手套, hat
4>  quick dry base layer 和保暖衣服(e.g. fleece  jacket)
5>  防雨防风外套
6>  头灯/手电筒
7>  防晒霜, 紫外线反射很厉害
8>  哨子
9>  墨鏡

一些注意事项：

需要CARPOOL的朋友准备两双鞋（一双是登山鞋），在开始Hiking前和结束后，换上干净的鞋，这样省去车主打扫车内卫生，谢谢！还可以再准备一双备用的袜子。爬完山，能让脚舒服一下也是种享受 .

手套很有用，保暖防寒，要防水／快干的。(如果没有防水／快干手套也可带个二三双羊毛手套湿了替换用)！

防雨防风外套／雨具和保暖衣服！

Current Road condition from Bivouac bulletins:(2010.08.15 )

2010.08.15 Scott Webster - Drove LC 2WD to bottom of "the big hill": Drove my low clearance 2WD almost to the parking lot. The usual somewhat rough condition, got a few clunks off the undercarriage.

Driving direction from Bivouac:

From Squamish drive north on Highway 99. Turn left at the Callaghan Valley road. From the Callaghan road take the first left. This is less than 1 kilometre up the road, past the Whistler recycling facility. Continue south past huge snowmobile parking lot and you're on the Brandywine Main. Once on the Brandywine road, follow it west for about 3 km, then you come to a junction of the Brandywine Meadows spur (see waypoint). [Brandywine Meadows spur cuts in high above the Brandywine trailhead. It is also used to approach Metal Dome off a spur road at the top of the clearcuts.]

Continuing on the low road past the junction, you come to the deactivated spur that used to go to Brew. You then come to the trailhead at about 920m
