DESCRIPTION: Indoor map and compass intro course.  This course will introduce basic concepts and practices for land navigation with map and compass.  We will be in the classroom the whole time. Starting at 5:30pm SHARP and wrapping up by 9:00pm.
Transit accessible via 210 from Vancouver or 228, or 229 from Seabus.

MEETING TIME AND LOCATION: North Van Dist. Public Library main branch, corner of Mountain Hwy and Lynn Valley Rd. North Vancouver.

PLEASE INDICATE: That you have appropriate compass; see below.

BRING: Your own refreshments, Declination-adjustable sighting compass, pencil, ruler, red pen.
Note that 'adjustable' means that the declination can be mechanically adjusted on the compass and 'sighting' means the compass has a mirror. Models such as the Silva Ranger 515 or Suunto MC-2DL NH are appropriate.
COSTS: $5 covers share of cost of room rental and photocopies.
