Lu,
I have never camped in the snow before, beside excitement, I have some questions.
1. do i need to bring poles to support the tarp (on my tent) assuming the camp ground is on an open snow field. I don't have poles supporting the tarp at this time, assuming the hiking pole is not tall enough to support the tarp. Do we need to set up tarp in this weather, what about blocking the wind?
2. how many meals to prepare for myself, and for the group?
3. what other water source we have beside boiling up snow/ice?
4. :sm5f: I am so afraid of Bear visitors!! where to dispose dirt water from washing, cooking, garbage? where to store food if there is no trees and food locker around the camp site?
tree well far from creek/lake

3> 2 breakfast, 2 dinner, 3 lunch & snacks and some food to share. e.g. snack or a small dish to share for Friday night....
we are a big group so I do not think that we will have bear problem and we will hang our food sack..... |
