A 360 degree panorama from Mount Sedgwick
Mount Roderick trail (Henriette Lake Trail) .
Access To: Mount Sedgwick.
Condition: Well trodden path.
General Route: Runs from the end of the Woodfibre road up to Henriette Lake, and then continues up the crest of the ridge to the east of the lake. A common temptation is to head across the lake and try and regain the ridge at the far end, but this results in some steep climbing.
How To Find: From the end of the Woodfibre road, cross the aluminium bridge. The trail starts immediately after the bridge, and switchbacks up through magnificant old growth cedars to Henriette Lake. Once at the lake, head up the forested shoulder north of the lake and then follow the ridge crest to Mount Roderick. In winter it is often difficult to find the exact trail, and you can get into some very steep and icy sections. Once on the ridge crest, it levels out.
History: The lower part of the trail was built by Woodfibre, for the use of the employees going up to inspect the dam. Until the mid 1980's, there was a permanent resident of the cabin at the dam. The reason the big cedars on the slopes below the lake were never logged was because it is important to the mill to have clean water without sediment.
