Yes, indeed! 这是参赛者中的几位...."My favourite aspect of the grind is its ability to push my physical comfort zone. Every time I do the grind no matter the resulting time, I get a feeling of gratification from trying my hardest that keeps me coming back for more." — Oliver Bibby

"Our names are Julie and Christina Sevsek and we are 14 year old twin sisters. We are very competitive soccer players and cross country athletes who are in the top three runners in the Fraser Valley Championship in BC for our age group. We won as a team the very first ever for our school Surrey District Banner including Athlete of the year award. We were introduced to the Grouse Grind Mountain by our Grade 7 teacher, Mr. Hong for a school field trip who also told us about the race. From then on, we were hooked on it! Although we haven't bought a Grind Timer yet, we have reached the top recently in 32 minutes!
Last year was our first Grouse Grind Mountain Run, which we entered into the women's elite race and came in 5th place with both the exact time of 38 minutes and 18 seconds. This is our life and what we love to do is compete...This year we love to challenge ourselves again and beat our time last year so were so looking forward to our competition and ready to tackle the mountain on the most gruelling course ever... See you this Sunday, September 15!"

"I challenge myself every time I do the grind by timing myself on each quarter. I also often meet up with a friend. We both go at our own pace and then meet up at the top. It is fun to meet up with friends and we inspire eachother to get best times." — Michael M., 15 years old

"My Grouse Grind Challenge is to complete 55 grinds this season, which is my age. I am only at 23 now as my challenge has been my health over the past year. I had thyroid cancer, radiation, then more recently, a concussion and fractured sternum, and now a virus similar to Mono.
So, all of this has slowed me down, but I'm a fighter, and I am not giving up! My other challenge has been trying to get donations, but I'm still happy where I'm at with this, and that all money raised goes to B.C. Children's Hospital, an organization very near and dear to my heart! I also want to take this chance to thank everyone who has worked on keeping the Grouse Grind up every year so we can do it. Thanks to everyone involved who makes the Grouse Grind available for us. Thank you!" — Elaine Rough, North Vancouver

Take notice of Julie Lethbridge. She was one of our featured Grouse Grind Challengers who flew out from Ottawa, after going from 350lbs to 200lbs in 18 months, to conquer the Grouse Grind!
As she came through the finish line, all smiles, closing out the event she was greeted by rounds of support and "Eye of the Tiger" blaring over the speakers by our DJ. Way to go, Julie! You're an inspiration to us all.
