6.3 M earthquake recorded off coast of Vancouver Island

A 6.3 M earthquake was recorded at 6:01 p.m. Wednesday about 136 km southwest of Port Alice, though authorities say there is no tsunami danger.

The earthquake happened about 41 km under the ocean floor off the west coast of Vancouver Island according to a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration bulletin issued at 6:04 p.m. Wednesday.
