火锅+BBQ  :lol:

《火锅+BBQ》吃得怎么样？昨天我在从Joffre路上也经过Whistler。那个城镇在夏天也漂亮。Joffre Lake也美丽的。 8)

偷懒啦，没有火锅，只有 BBQ, Whistler 的夏天一点也不比冬天差。我们把自行车带去了。Biking 一天, Hiking 一天, 还有一天去玩了 MTV, 佷开心。我这周日要和朋友去 Glacier National Park camping/hiking 一周，希望不会错过你的高级菜鸟活动。

喜羊羊山和山羊山不一样。喜羊羊是“Little Goat”而山羊山是“Goat Mtn”。山羊山离喜羊羊山远1公里。山羊山只有在夏天才能爬，在冬天不可能。查看地图：http://goo.gl/OqCXK8

Some steep part below the summit. Never rely on that rope that is there! Also, wear a helmet, some pieces of ice fell here on us on descend, couple of them ended in between my back and backpack. 8)

Was in the area yesterday. Heard a sound of 2 avalanches, one short and one big, both most likely coming from the Goat south face, below tree level. This confirms we are in natural spring seasonal transition period, sun is out which makes snow move. Going into alpine this weekend will make me nervous. Afternoon slopes, any aspect, can be very unstable. The exposed traverse just below the emergency shelter on Golden Ears comes to mind. My estimate of safe alpine would be June-15 and after, when the snow that moves has moved.  Be safe, don't become statistics. 8)

.. Sun exposed slopes were isothermal in the afternoon - if steep enough there is potential for wet snow slides...

..and Mt. Fromme, there was fresh snow at the top of the gully and near the peak of Fromme. It started at about the 1000m mark. I wouldn't rely on this snow still being there though, it's been hot the last few days and all the snow is melting...

.. Isothermic snow in sun exposed areas makes for postholing and on steep sections slides off easily...

Sobering. Curbing alpine enthusiasm this weekend would be a good idea. 8)

Conditions Update 2014-05-06. Thunderbird Ridge trail still fully snow covered starting from chalet. Good snowshoeing, even though it is already May-2014 8)
