West Lion - sub-technical, full-day trip



Difficulty: difficult, exposed traverses, a lot of trail hiking
"..This route is neither particularly safe, nor easy.." - "Scrambles" book p.32

SKILLS: must be confident and comfortable climbing exposed low class-5 rock

EXPERIENCE: must have completed at least one route from the "Scrambles" book.

GEAR: climbing harness, helmet, 1 locking carabiner.

Ascent time: 4-6 hours
Elevation Gain: 1,409m


IMPORTANT
ALTHOUGH the organizer of this trip has received training in mountaineering and alpine/crevasse rescue, he is NOT a professional mountaineer, guide or trained first aid attendant. The function of the organizer is only to organize the trip, ensure it gets underway and be familiar or have knowledge of the access to the area, the route or routes. Participants on a trip are responsible for their own safety and are expected to have the necessary skills, experience, fitness, suitable first aid supplies and appropriate equipment in good working order.

Meeting Time(s): will be emailed to registered hikers at noon-time two days before the trip.

Factors: if minimum safety levels are not met (because of weather, conditions, etc.) the trip will be canceled, last minute cancellations do occur.

不过我确实也很想去 :D
时间能否退后一周，要是28,29那周就好了。我很久没锻炼了，所以要从下周开始恢复一阵子。
当然还要看博士有没有空位，好像都reserved 了 :(,非常期待能有机会

TRIP STATUS: TO BE RESCHEDULED DUE TO BAD WEATHER

According to weather forecast it will rain trough the week, including the weekend. We need dry rock, which needs at least two dry sunny days before the trip, which is unlikely. Trip had to be cancelled until further notice.

Thursday, 19 September
    Periods of rain. Low 13. High 20.
Friday, 20 September
    Showers. Low 14. High 17.
Saturday, 21 September
    Periods of rain. Low 11. High 16.
Sunday, 22 September
    Periods of rain. Low 11. High 18.
