Fundrazr has graciously set-up a campaign on their site and created a legacy fund in honour of Tim Jones. They have also waived their fees. All funds will go to North Shore Rescue.
There are many ways to celebrate Tim Jones' life.
Making a donation in memory of him is a good cause.
I didn't know him personally, but he seemed like a buddy to all outdoor lovers.
I saw his face on TV & North Shore News whenever there was a SAR.

Good response for a good cause: in less then 12 hours the initial interest had met and exceeded capacities of ALL events.
As events spaces are limited, naturally, a certain selection process will take place. You will be emailed about status of your application in a timely manner. Your original application is kept confidential.
"..Mountain Equipment Co-Op will commemorate the work of the late Tim Jones by matching all donations made to the Tim Jones Memorial Fund. Donations to the fund, made at local MEC stores, will be matched up to the amount of $10,000..."
If MEC still matches donations, you may donate only 50% of the originally posted amounts, provided you donated at MEC and have the proof MEC matched it. Thus total amount will meet original target(s).
