自由党议员承认其禁枪方案resolution 151在党内被挫败
Mr. Easter,
I am writing this brief note to you in order to express my outrage at the statements you made at the Convention when resolution 151 came up for debate.
I am not a "so called lawful gun owner", as you uttered into your microphone and is now making the rounds of the Internet. There is no confusion on the matter. There is no doubt about it. I have been vetted by the RCMP and my character referenced and checked with members of my community. I have served my country selflessly and without hesitation and I am most certainly and without a doubt a law-abiding citizen. As such, I am trusted by the Government of Canada. You appear to doubt that fact.
Tell me Sir, what right do you have to question it? Explain to me and the rest of my family - and by extension, all 2,000,000 Canadians who own Firearms and their families and friends - what leads you to mock us and our character? Where is the evidence that leads you to doubt us, or suspect us of being anything but? Who have we fooled or cajoled into covering this up?
If you doubt our honor, tell me Mr. Easter, why should I trust yours?
XXXXX XXXXX
Montreal, Canada"
And here is his reply:
"Wayne Easter (wayne.easter@parl.gc.ca)
XXX,
Shocked and amazed is about all I can say to your comments about my efforts to defend your rights and defeat a resolution that would attempt to put another imposition on gun owners.
Of course most legal gun owners are law-abiding citizens, the use of the phrase “so-called” was to put emphasis on the fact that they are.
I’m proud to let you know that Resolution 151 was defeated. I would hope that you celebrate this fact, and you’re welcome.
All the best,
WE" |
