Emergency Kit: head lamp w spare batteries, pocket knife, pain killers, band-aide, whistle, protein bar, short static cord, etc.

NOTE: if minimum safety levels are not met, the trip will be canceled, last minute cancellations do occur.

ALTHOUGH the organizer of this trip has received training in mountaineering and alpine/crevasse rescue, he is NOT a professional mountaineer, guide or trained first aid attendant. The function of the organizer is only to organize the trip, ensure it gets underway and be familiar or have knowledge of the access to the area, the route or routes. Participants on a trip are responsible for their own safety and are expected to have the necessary skills, experience, fitness, suitable first aid supplies and appropriate equipment in good working order.

*All trip coordination is emailed to the address that you provided to trip organizer, you are responsible to check it often.

In terms of help the crew would also appreciate "a ground support member",  a driver who can shuttle them from Rubble Creek parking lot to Diamond Head Trail Parking Lot, map : http://goo.gl/maps/Ndb40 . Gas expenses, car appreciation and beers on them.

Optionally, he can also hike with us up to Elfin Lake / Opal Cone / and even spend a night, then return on his own. Want to be part of the good thing for a good cause?! Details by email.  8)

Right, that's actually the plan:

We can avoid avy danger by reversing the trip, that is camping Saturday on the lake at Sentinel Bay, and then traveling alpine on Sunday, Monday when avy is moderate, but current weather for Monday will be snowing..

In such present conditions we can't go unless forecast improves. I can wait till tomorrow's fresh avy forecast around 17:00 time (if you can) and hope things change. :)

If this timing is too tight you can choose better plans for the weekend.

Walking Monday below Gargoyles under heavy snowfall not looking great. And then try to dig the first car out of the snow, drive back to Rubble Creek, dig out 2nd car, etc.. etc..That provided all going well. If not, than Houston will have a problem. 8)
