Semaphore Lakes - Mt. Locomotive--Keyhole Hot springs.

集合时间和地点：
本周六（八月二号6am西温教堂）

It will take us ~ 3.5 hours to get Trailhead, carpool fee: $35

It's a moderate trip; we only need to carry our backpacks for ~1.5 hours from trailhead to our base camp @ Semaphore Lakes on Saturday(Aug,2nd)

Day 1(Saturday,Aug,2nd): base camp---->Locomotive Mountain (easy/moderate scramble)----->base camp

Day 2(Sunday,Aug,3rd): base camp----> pack and head to Keyhole Hot springs----->head home

Semaphore Lakes (Elevation gain: 250m)

Terrain: Moderate to occasional steep hiking, good trail

Equipment: Hiking Boots to Semaphore Lakes and surrounding meadows. To go further towards Face Mountain, you will want glacier gear.
Description: The Semaphore lakes trail starts near Railroad pass and climbs quickly to the alpine at the head of Donelly and Railroad Creeks. From the alpine, a variety of possible routes present themselves. If you want an easy hike, there are numerous meadows and alpine kettle lakes. Above the meadows is a steep headwall and glacier, leading to Face Mountain or any one of the Railroad Group. Climbing the peaks is usually an extra day.

From Pemberton, drive northwest for 24 km up the Lillooet River valley on the Pemberton Meadows Road, then turn right and cross the Lillooet River to the north side. (Do not continue straight on the south side). The road on the north side is called the Upper Lillooet River FSR. Follow it for 9.1 km (it is a dusty gravel road), to the Hurley River road. This road switchbacks up, climbing more than 1000m, from the Lillooet River at about 300m to Railroad pass at 1385m. The trailhead for Semaphore Lakes is near Railroad pass.

去年路过Twenty Mile Bay的营地时（Harrison Lake的西岸），就被其营地风景吸引住了。

打算长周末去car camping, 然后选一天到附近的Statlu Lake走，一天游泳晒太阳。

就是这个营地位置要早去抢占 :D

car camping的好选择太少了，特别是长周末，初步打算一般强度风景一流的backpacking：

No real exposure and no real scrambling. My dog made it unassisted which is a good indication of an easy scramble. Unfortunately I don’t have a GPS track but hopefully the pictures will help you recognize parts of the route.

从parking lot到face mountain来回7个小时，从base camp出发估计应该来回5个小时。

从parking lot开到温泉，约45公里，一个半小时左右车程。

天黑前赶到温泉的营地就行（从FSR下到温泉的营地，还是挺陡滴）。

漏看了这个。day hiking从停车场来回Face 7个小时。

Total ascent time from Hurley to summit was just over four hours. Descent with one more brief route mix up was 3 hours for 7 satisfying hours car to car

其中灰色的环线是两个Climbers连爬五峰的路线，仅供参考(他们应该至少有头盔)
其它色的tracks是我们2007走的路线供参考，注意上山和下山路线不同(Mt. Locomotive)----红线是上山路线，绿线是下山路线

btw：Scramble一书上所估计的时间或CT上老hiker估计的时间要比我们的平均时间少不少，他们速度快
