......昨天电话里提及GG和提议做缆车上山,结果表弟随后email说“Our family would love to climb ourselves! The grandparents are probably better to take the cable car. Look forward to it!”,唉,有点担心东部来的亲戚们,会不会第一天就被GG弄得很惨
ld和我给我表弟表妹的回信给下  :
I'm a little bit concerned about the whole family doing the Grouse Grind, as it’s truly a challenging trail. The Grind is 2,800 vertical feet, steep and relentless, with some open rock scrambles. To get an idea, look north at Grouse Mountain and the gondola cable as your ship docks at Canada Place in Vancouver. We've seen many first-timer's suffering a lot, and want to make sure that the effort won’t damage your Vancouver stopover, especially on the first day! But if you're brave & determined... be ready to sweat (a lot!), wear good running shoes or trail runners and one of us will company you doing GG.
Admittedly there's a huge sense of accomplishment finishing this climb (especially the first time), and the view from the top is spectacular on a clear day!
The gondola ride down is a pleasure. |
