Safe and Sensible
Our Conservative Government has taken action to fully protect gun owners from the reclassification of firearms that happened earlier this year.
As of today, owners of the CZ-858 and Swiss Arms rifles that were impacted can now use their private property once again, as should have always been the case.
What’s more, our Conservative Government also announced our intention to table the Common Sense Firearms Licensing Act.
This legislation will streamline licensing and eliminate needless red tape for law-abiding gun owners. Among other things, this will merge the Possession Only and Possession and Acquisition Licenses, as well as creating a grace period so that individuals that inadvertently miss renewing their firearms license are not made into criminals overnight.
Our foremost priority is keeping the public safe, through safe and sensible policies.
Our Conservative Government has always stood up for law-abiding hunters, farmers and sport shooters. But the fight is far from over.

The NDP and the Liberals have promised to bring back the wasteful and ineffective long-gun registry, should they get the chance. And Justin Trudeau’s newest “star” MP, Adam Vaughan, told the Toronto Star he wants to ban the sale of guns and bullets, saying “emotional reasons” from gun enthusiasts are not enough to justify access to ammunition.

We need to be ready to stop Justin Trudeau from going back to the days when Liberal Justice Minister Alan Rock said that he believed only police and the military should have firearms.
