North Shore Rescue was called out for two rescues along the Howe Sound Crest
Trail in the past week. The first was a nasty hand injury as a pair of hikers
attempted to relocate the trail:
NSR says to call for help as soon as you know you are lost to reduce the chances
of injury, and to give the rescuers as much daylight as possible to find you.
Remember the advice is to head *up*hill in the North Shore mountains, rather
than try to follow a creek down.
The second call was an accident along the trail to St Mark's Summit where a
hiker hyper-extended her knee after her foot became trapped in one of the many
roots along that trail:
