The fish in Robin Lakes are Twin Lakes Cutthroat Trout (aka Westslope Cutthroat), not the native Coastal Cutthroat found west of Snoqualamie Pass. The Robin Lakes @1,900m ASL have been stocked by WDFW (Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife). The fish there are not native. There were 1,370 trout fry introduced into Upper Robin and 430 into Lower Robin in 2003, likely by helicopter, see:

The fish I caught were small (6-8" or less). Caught 4 on tiny Kamlooper orange & silverand Gibbs Croc red & brass 3/16 oz spoons and more on good ol' Doc Spratley flies . The best fishing was in the evening and early morning using flies. Had luck at both lakes, but fish from the larger upper lake (where we camped) have firmer whiter flesh, while ones from the lower lake at the inflow creek had redder flesh, probably entering their spawning cycle. |
