2022.08.22 Spindle North Peak, BC
Spindle North Peak became our 400th unique summit that we climbed together.

Last time we were here was in 2019, three years ago.

Vera followed. The vertical rope on the right is the bottom end of the fixed rope, now hanging free, with the log that used to sit on the col, but not anymore.

We choose to rappel from Spindle where it made most sense. Only after we came back, we discovered an old rappel station only a few meters away.

We left this simple summit register.
We didn't expect that jumaring up steep alder was that easy.
Back to Spindle-Crown col.
From this side, The Camel looks most dramatic.
To get back to our rope (green) we have to rappel. The old fixed rope is now hanging free with the log still attached is seen on the right.

Jumaring up small overhangs is possible, but better be avoided.
Sometimes a thought strikes the mind that all that holds you is the natural anchor high above (a tree). What if it fails. Like the fallen log seen on the right.

The last scheduled tram down from the chalet is every night, at 9:00 p.m., but at that time, we were still on the Alpine trail, walking fast, hoping that something happens. Or we will have another 800m to descend to the parking via Grouse Grind. It was already 9:30 p.m. when we finally reached the chalet, and OMG, saw the gondola and the attendant sweeping the floor as if waiting for us. In 1 minute he closed the door and we went down. Happy ending.
