Fire crews tackled a wildfire along the Tunnel Bluffs trail that trapped a
couple of hikers which were flown out by helicopter thanks to Lions Bay
SAR. While yet to be confirmed, it was likely human-caused. Please be
careful out there as the undergrowth is very dry, especially on mossy
bluffs where the soil is shallow.
Now is a good time to remind yourself about how to have a safe campfire.
Always have a source of water nearby and ensure that the remains are cold
to the touch before leaving it.
