The parking area to access Garibaldi Lake in winter has effectively been shut down as of February 14, 2020. No other parking alternative is available. Last week I was at the lake and people were very frustrated at the situation, and most of them ended up turning around and going home. Groups included everyone from locals to a group of 6 disappointed tourists from Germany- not very welcoming for a provincial government looking to promote itself as a world class outdoors destination. Instead of putting up no parking signs, BC Parks should partner with BC Hydro to get the parking lot plowed as gesture of good will between industry and recreationists. The article above quotes a cost of $18 000, which is an impossible sum for an individual, but reasonable for BC Parks. Sign this petition
