It's well-known that the road to the Garibaldi Laketrailhead is not ploughed in the winter. That led to winter users parking alongthe short section of Daisy Lake Road (which leads to a BC Hydro property) thatis ploughed. However, last month no parking signs were put in place in the areawhich rules out legal access to this area of the park in winter.

In an attempt to show how popular this area is in winter,the UBC Varsity Outdoor Club (VOC) is planning to dig out a number parkingspots this weekend (March 7) to enable access to skiers and snowshoers.

Hopefully the province will listen and plough at least ashort section of the road towards the parking lot to provide legal winterparking.
