* Be aware that Highway 99 through Pemberton and MountCurrie may be impassable in the coming days as the Lillooet and BirkenheadRivers (along with their feeder rivers) are running *extremely* high with allthe snowmelt: Plan accordingly! * The Juan de Fuca trail is closed due to a landslidebetween Mystic and Bear Beaches (the official park web page has yet to beupdated with any details): Judging by the location, it looks like this will be along-term closure and it means the Juan de Fuca trail can't be hiked in fullthis summer. * The Cheakamus Lake trail and campground along with theSinging Creek and Helm Creek campgrounds are CLOSED until June 30 due to anaggressive food-conditioned bear - it's not clear if they will be opened forCanada Day: When camping, please ensure that all food items arestored safely in the provided metal lockers or hung on steel cables. Cook andeat at least 50 m from campsites (do not eat at your campsite!) and pick up andpack out any food that gets dropped. Pack out any leftovers. Please pass onthis message to your less experienced friends and family! * The Stein Valley Nlaka'pamux Heritage Park remainsclosed. * The Quarry Rock trail in Deep Cove also remains closed,as does Lynn Canyon suspension bridge. * Access to the Swan Falls Trail and beyond near BuntzenLake remains closed due to a rockslide. Note there are other closures in thearea too. Check the latest conditions here: * The BCMC trail may still be closed at times over thenext few weeks to allow for work on upgrades. An alternative route issignposted: * Get your BC Parks day-pass here - based on what youreditor saw at Joffre Lakes, it seems to be working though the trails were stillbusy. Staff were turning round hikers without a pass. Note the distinctionbetween "person" and "vehicle" passes!
