By the way, I can drive my small car which can contain 4 people, as long as there's no big slope on the way to Baker :)

During  snow season,  ppl usually park their cars in the upper parking lot of the Mount Baker Ski area(about 55 miles of hwy 542).

Here are replies I got from NWhikers considering the current Hwy 542 condition:

During the ski season the road is normally open to the upper lodge.  According to the ski area website they are operating this weekend.

The road is clear up to the upper ski lodge.  The snowshoe to Artist's point takes off from the upper parking lot.

It's the road from the upper ski lodge to Artist's point that's closed.

the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest 'Forest Road Conditions Report' indicate the road is clear to Heather Medows.
