It's been 4 months since I climbed Orizaba, though I didn't summit, not even I reached to
the final snow slope, I still love it, searching internet for new pictures about it, finding places
where I have been to and still remember. I think maybe I should write something, it may be interesting to people
who plan to climb it or hike it.

Orizaba is a vocalno, the highest mountain in Mexico, the third hightest mountain
in north america with elevation of 5636 m. I first know about this mountain in 2005, After I came back from Mt. Temple(In Banff area, elevation
3500m), summitted with my friend Alan and Jane. At that time, Orizaba seems to be the easiest high
elevation mountain one can climb by himself/herself(without roped up with others). But soon I forgot about it,
cause it's a little bit unreasonable for me to go to Mexico and climb that mountain and go back without doing anything else.

Then in last year, in November, after I failed an interview, my girl friend and I plan to
go Mexico for Christmas's vacation. And at that moment, I thought maybe I can climb Orizaba,
just as a small part of the vacation. And for that, I bought ice axe from MEC, and I contacted
the man in Tlachichuca for the first night stay and renting crampons.
(before that, I never wear crampons for real climbing).

To cut the long story in short, after brief preparation we started off, flew to Mexico city.
Took bus to talachichuca, I remembered in Puebla(A city in the middle between Mexico city and
Orizaba), it was dusk, I saw Popo(another vocalno in Mexico, second highest) at the bus station,
just for one glimpse, very beautiful and impressive.

We arrived Tlachichuca late, around 9pm I remember,It is a small town. We passed the central plaza
and managed to find where servimont is(a place where we stay for the first night and where we returned to
from Orizaba, though the price is kind of expensive). It was too late, the man I should contact had left, so for
the renting issues, we have to leave it for the next day(10am) which means we would start late for next day's hiking to
Hidalgo(claimed to be the highest village in north america). But anyway, we had a good start, after one day's endless riding(on taxi,
plane, subway, bus, and foot), we finally lying on the wooden bed, thank god, tomorrow, I will see Orizaba.
