初步计划(Paradise Meadow/Forbidden Plateau/Circlet Lake/Mt. Albert Edward)：
第一天：Paradise Meadow Trailhead -> Circlet Lake (Backcountry Campground) 10km/400m/4.5hrs one-way

第二天：
轻装上Mt. Albert Edward 13km/935m/7hrs round-trip (或第一天？)，返回Paradise Meadow Trailhead

如果有3天时间会更充裕些。

因为是在岛上，能召集到人的可能性比较小，2人以上我就可以backcountry camping，如果只有一个人的话，我会考虑day hiking。

Della Falls on Vancouver Island is the highest waterfall in Canada, accessible only via a long hike. Usually the falls have lost their oomph by late summer, however thanks to the deep snowpack they are still going strong this year. The winter storms also washed out some parts of the trails. The falls are still accessible, but there are some challenging sections of trail.

Day 1 (Sunday) : Ferry to Nanaimo, then a 2-hour drive followed by 1-hour water taxi or 2-hour powerboat trip across Great Central Lake, hike in a few km, set up camp.
Day 2: Hike the rest of the trail ( total 7 hours, 16 km, 450 m elevation
gain) up to base of the falls, camp there.
Day 3: Explore the area (probably Love Lake, 7km round-trip, 760 m elevation gain), camp at the base of the falls or perhaps a bit further down the trail.
Day 4 (Wednesday) : Hike down, boat back across the lake, aim for an early evening ferry home

Costs:
Round-trip ferry fare to Nanaimo is about $22 per person plus $80 per vehicle.  In addition, water taxi or powerboat fees will be about $100-130 per person. Gas will probably be $40-$50 per vehicle.

从Vancouver Island还要再坐船才能去，风景也未必那么好，暂时放一放。:)

今年还没有去Alpine meadow和冰川，每年得看看才踏实。:D

看你怎么看了，如果你本来就想去这些地方呢，我在岛上有接应应该算是个优势，比如这次，你们就可以坐6:20的Ferry到Nanaimo，我去那里接你们，再开到Trailhead也就9:30左右，和去别的地方也没有什么大区别。你们可以只过人不过车，可以节约一笔Ferry费。 :roll:

Strathcona是BC第一个省公园，看起来还是不错的，估计以后就是我的重点对象了，然后就是时不时去Juan De Fuca吹吹海风什么的了。

If you can pick up us in Nanamo that would be nice, otherwise I will be camping in Buttle Lake on Friday night.

是啊，Mt. Albert Edward是其中最Popular的一条，但不是最好的。Strathcona估计有上百个海拔1200米以上的山峰，全岛最高峰Gold Hinde也在这里。以后慢慢玩......

你不用周五过来Camping，周六我去Nanaimo ferry接你。

请问是否要自带帐篷和睡袋(目前还没有),道路情况如何?是在乱石中行走还是在修好的小石子路上行走?多谢!

要自带帐篷和睡袋，还有4餐主食及炉具餐具。

我也没有去过所以不知道道路的具体情况，从资料上预计时间/里程推算应该是有一定难度的。

I have a 2-person tent and stove.

I have camping experience but not an experienced camper. I can backpack for 10 - 12 K, more than that I might have difficulties.

I know nothing about this trail but really want to do it. :oops:

Carrying 25lb (12Kg) should be good enough for overnight camping. I could carry all the sharable equipments like water filter etc, I could also carry some equipments for you if necessary. Elevation gain to campground is not too much, we will be carrying minimum stuff to peak Mt. Edward Albert.
