九月份长周末backpacking计划 Southern Chilcotin (CANCELLED!)

我想组织四天的backpacking(周五到周一)，具体路线正在研究(Southern Chilcotin Area)，不知道有多少人有兴趣？

曾想过走20号公路，然后从Bella Coola坐船经温哥华岛返回。如果只有四天时间，其中两整天要开车往返，远远不够玩。

Minimum driving time:

1. N.Vancouver(Hwy 1) to Gold Bridge via the Hurley River FSR requires 4 hours
2. N.Vancouver(Hwy 1) to Gold Bridge via Lillooet using Hwy 99 and Road 40 is 5.5Hours(Lillooet to Gold Bridge via Road 40 is 1.75h)


According to book"Don't waste ur time in the BC Coast Mountain", Southern Chilcotin/Taylor Basin is a 3-4 day backpacking trip.

I'll figure out what's the best route for a 4 day trip.

I thought you were talking about the Chilcotin area along Hwy 20. Gold Bridge is not very far from Birkenhead Lake (we stopped over there when we hiked the Phelix Creek trail late 2005, remember?)

I believe fall colors will begin to show in that area in September.

这个不错，即使Car Camping也不错，极大的兴趣。不过要有足够的4驱车，城市SUV不算，要能off-road的才行，否则开了一半不开了咋办？ :roll:

这条路线的开始和去紫湖一样，Logging road(Taylor Creek Road)是要走上去的(到Taylor Lodge/Basin Area)，有四驱的话也只是少走2.5km而已(到footbridged Taylor Creek也要停).
