The Table - North Side
(4 km S of Garibaldi Lake). (15 km NE of Cheekye). (5 km N of Mount Garibaldi).
This flat-topped mountain was formed during the last ice-age when lava bubbled up into the overlying ice, foming a mold for the magma which subsequently solidified. Today this mountain is almost impossible to climb because sections have collapsed, creating steep and exceptionally rotten rock walls on all sides. The mountain has possibly not been climbed since 1959.
History: The landform of the Table, formed when lava intrudes a glacier from underneath, is called a tuya. Similar features occur in the far northwestern part of BC. The flat topped table shape and steep sides are characteristic of the landform. (Official Name)

Mt. Price is an excellent peak for admiring the surrounding mountain celebrities. This was a snow-shoeing North Shore Hikers trip.
Access: The summit of The Table can best be reached by a helicopter or via a looooong ladder from its base :-)
