According to my limited experience, it is not that hard for entry-level people cause the gap between two spots are not that far and the pad on top of the spot is big enough to step on. Tried out the Intro Plus course this morning at Coquitlam. Vancouver location has a min 2 weeks in advance booking for the Sunday training course. There were only 4 of us and the instructor had amber of time to go thru the training. My initial climb was only 10 feet and got chicken out due to the height. I gained my confident as time went by and by third climb I was able to make it to the top. Will come back for the belay test next week and definitely go for the membership in Richmond. Yes, the Richmond location is opened since late Oct and considering less people. Vancouver by far is the busiest!

安全:gym的top rope是比较安全的,安全带double back,绳节正确,保护器正确使用
基本上没有危险。gym的leading和outdoor top rope遵守正确操作也相对安全。
outdoor sports leading和outdoor traditional leading要注意的事项比较繁杂,不
在本贴讨论。double check一定不能少。新手容易犯的错误:安全带穿拧了;没double
back;手离保护器太近对方脱落的时候手卡进保护器被夹伤;belay的时候一不留神松
手没握住绳子(这个最严重)
新手刚开始多爬,多看别人爬,爬的间隙,或者热身的时候做一些平移,体会重心的移
动,换手换脚。一开始平移的时候也最好找人帮忙纠正动作。我刚开始爬的两个月,每
天中午基本都要平移半个小时到一个小时。好在学校里的岩壁就在lab旁边走路10分钟
。Youtube上有不少教基本动作的video比较好的是Mountaineers rock climbing video
(part 1 & part 2)。虽然做示范的人太惨了,不过讲得很清楚。值得一看。
