Elfin Lake snow condition

Hi all, unable to type Chinese at work, but wish to ask, does anyone know how is the snow condition at Elfin Lake, if were to hike during long weekend (10-11th), is it possible to do without snowshoes?  Or are snowshoes absolutely necessary?

YOu can refer to this link for more information, but it was up-to-date until Mar 31, 2009. The snow condition on Elfin lakes area changes rapidly these days, though.

If I were you, I would still carry the snow shoes with me just in case :) But I think it will be unlikely that you can hike up all the way to the shelters without snowshoes.
