Re: YMCA run for health 5K report.
[quote="extreme_sports"]dogshasha
I've got a friend who had a 5K race relay this past Wednesday evening. Not sure if it was the one you had.
I'm having a 5K race in Mississauga next Sunday. I'll report my score after it. ;-)
I'm currently using my iPhone and an App called Mapmyrun to track my runnings.
Keep running and keep in fit,
Michael @ Newmarket

It's called Meta Foundation.
Meta Foundation holds its 8th Annual Family Walk and Run in Vaughan with a day filled with special guests, events and attractions.
The popular family-oriented annual event aims to raise funds and public awareness for the benefit of the Meta Centre; a non-profit organization that works with children and adults with special needs.
Funds raised from the event will go towards funding for summer camps for Meta’s special-needs children and youth as well as week-end and Saturday respite services being provided in the Vaughan, Richmond Hill and Toronto branches.
Hockey fans of all ages will have a chance to meet o Maple Leafs’ goaltender Curtis Joseph and get an autograph after the Family 2K Walk/Run. “Cujo” will be joined by former NHL stars Andy Bathgate, Eddie Shack and Harry Howell. The event provides a multitude of activities for the whole family including a coloring contest, a petting zoo, face painting, a fire truck, snow-cones, popcorn, cotton candy, and bbq, all to the tune of a professional DJ’s background beats! All registrants will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a trip for two to the St. Kitts Marriott Resort and the Royal Beach Casino, and a second prize of a five night stay at a Marriott Caribbean resort.
The event is being hosted by ZZEN Group of Companies, and will once again take place at the Vaughan West Business Park located at Highways 7 and 27 in Woodbridge, Ontario
The itinerary for the event is as follows:

The Centre helps children and adults with special needs by providing services tailored to meet individual needs and choices.
We also provide services to children and adults who have a dual diagnosis (a developmental and mental health issue) and/or those who have multiple disabilities. Individuality is respected as we strive to provide an environment that maximizes their decision-making and respects their ethnicity.
The Meta Centre believes all individuals have the right to live, work and enjoy recreational activities in their own community.
About EOH Meta Foundation
EOH Meta Foundation first became a non-profit organization in 1978. At that time, the fundamental goal was the integration and inclusion of people with special needs into Canadian society regardless of ethno-cultural backgrounds or special needs while respecting individual choice, customs and heritage. In 1986, EOH Meta Foundation founded Meta Centre, and today the foundation acts as the fundraising Board for Meta Centre. |
