背包一族之 -Garibaldi Lake和Panorama Ridge專訪 (7月11)

背包一族,在第一天放下帳篷後,更趕往Panorama Ridge一行.
在途中遇到也往Panorama Ridge作單日行程的二人一組.

這星期三組人同往這美景勝地, 也有機會碰面, 非常之高興.

Hello everyone,
First of all I would like to thank Gloria (LuLuLu) for arranging the invititation with Camony and Alex to come along with your group this weekend and thank you Camony and Alex for accepting and inviting me along. I would also like to thank Gloria for  emailing me this morning and providing instructions so that I could write this post to all of you. You are all very kind and warm hearted and offer so much in friendship. :)  

This was my first larger trip in some time and it was nice to spend it with your group in such a beautiful area. I will be honest in saying that the friendship, support and kindness of your group and community greatly surpasses any experiences I have encountered in my North American Culture.

You  have a sincere team spirit; especially when you helped me out. At 6.5 junction, I was surprised to find out that you all changed and shared Gloria's and my gear so that I didn't have to carry a pack.  :D

Robin and Bronton:
Thank you for taking my load, following me down, and checking on me. I had to laugh  :lol: when Robin was following me, He reported to LuLu in Mandarin, that I had stopped using my poles and she quicly turned around and talked to me. :)  Also thank you to Robin for teaching me some Mandarin.
Thank you Bronton for  driving to Squamish and getting the ice cream and watermelon; what a nice treat and your company on the mountain. :D

Gloria (LuLu): I really appreciated your kindness and that you carried my pack from 6.5 junction.  I know I didn't want to give it up.  Thank you for getting me to focus on the last push to the summit. I think it was obvious to everyone that exposure is a problem for me. I'm working on it.

Jerry: It was a pleasure to meet you and enjoyed your humour and help. I look forward to visiting you at Boeing. Keep up the exercise with the water filter.

Camony and Alex: Thank you again for your generosity and also thank you to Camony for the back country cooking tips. I would love to join your group for more trips. :D

I know I won't remember everybody's names who I enjoyed meeting. I could say so much more but I think what I want to say most to all of you is,

真是羡慕死你们了。
我们5、6、7日在Garibaldi 都是阴天下雨，在Panorama Ridge云雾弥漫，能见度不超过20米。
不过，这次能走一趟Garibaldi的trail，登上Panorama Ridge，已是非常高兴了，小小的遗憾会为以后的重游充满期待。

最早认识Paul是三年多前，那时我常在CT发贴子请教问询，他总是很热心提供信息和帮助，慢慢了解到他家四代都是土生土长的温哥华人，他的祖父和父亲都是BCMC和ACC成员，他自己也是有多年搜救队和驾驭直升机搜救的经验，本地报得上名的山他基本上都爬过。三年前邀请他给CROSSNA做安全讲座，第一次见面我很吃惊，怎么也想不出为什么这样一个户外经验丰富的人会挺着一个球大的肚子。

此后二三年间，我多次邀请过他加入CROSSNA的活动都被他婉拒了，慢慢地从他人那里得知他有自身免疫性疾病--多发性肌肉硬化症MS，最常见症状为肢体麻木和因视神经感染引起的暂时性视力障碍，几年前他因此退出志愿搜救队和飞行，他拒绝邀请是不想拖累别人，我自己是hiking的最大受益者，非但结识了很多好朋友学习了不少户外知识，以前的哮喘失眠肥胖等等都因坚持而消失，知道了他的情况后，我试着鼓励他，近一年多他开始常规的自我锻练，一周1-3 次的GG/BCMC，听他说他的医生也说他的病情大大缓解改善，真的是很为他高兴

这次爬Panaroma Ridge，很少exposure，我想让他试一试，我自己恐高，于是对他说了我的经历，上"刀山"前先吃饱喝足休整一下 :wink: ，爬时对自己说放松放松，精神紧张只能让自己消耗易失去平衡...注意力集中在脚下，不要大步，一步步踩稳....Paul试了，我在前，大眼睛紧随其后保护，终于大家一起登顶了，Paul对我说这是他多年后第一次重返Panaroma Ridge,非常开心..........

对了, Paul也是滑野雪的好手，曾做过志愿Ski Patrol，也曾在Capilano College教过滑雪，他愿意无偿志愿教授CROSSNA朋友滑雪技巧，有兴趣的朋友可以和他联系(pmicheals@shaw.ca)

我这次原本打算背双人帐蓬上来，后来格格退出就偷懒带了个bivy bag，我的bivy是goretex paclite材料的，很轻但没有bug mesh只是一个little see-through window,更适合雪季帐蓬里用防湿或无蚊少蚊的环境里用, 现在时令蚊虫很多，我想着套上个的防蚊面罩凑合睡觉，结果是呼吸不畅辗转到到半夜两点还是不能安息，不远处是Jerry大哥的帐蓬，知道他睡眠不好所以斗争了半天还是决定去找Bronton share tent，天黑头晕一时没找到，小声叫唤Bronton的声音把Paul吵醒（不过他说是被隔壁帐蓬里吵得一直没睡 :wink: ），Paul陪着我找到Bronton的帐蓬，自己返回帐蓬时却不小心被拌到扭伤，真是不好意思，感谢!

Camony说她已经不喜欢夏季在Garibaldi backpacking，人太多，同感，另外这次很惊讶地发现Garibaldi Lake和Less Garibaldi Lake都变小了很多,干燥还是多了个泄水口?
