2015.12.28 BCMC / SSG trails - contd.

Twelve great summits that can be seen (and have been photographed) from Dam Mountain:

Crown N1 (3km) - we climbed it on 2014.03.03
2014.03.01, 2013.08.25

American Border Peak (112km) and Larrabee (114km) - climbed on 2007.07.14

Hollyburn (7km) - great family walk

Strachan (8km) - nice local winter summit camping spot

Beauty Peak (2km) - attractive but rarely visited. 8)

Mount Dana is a mountain in the U.S. state of California. Its summit marks the eastern boundary of Yosemite National Park and the western boundary of the Ansel Adams Wilderness. At an elevation of 13,061 feet (3,981 m), it is the second highest mountain in Yosemite (after Mount Lyell)

#6 The Camel, Canada-BC, 1,475 m

A steep, double rock block on the north side of the highest summit of Crown Mountain. From the east or west, this peak looks like a single-hump camel, with the "head" pointing south.

#5 Mamquam Mountain, Canada-BC, 2,588 m

The highpoint of the sprawling Mamquam Icefield massif in southern Garibaldi Provincial Park. The approach is fairly long and is often done on skis via Skookum Creek or Elfin Lakes. The standard summit route is along the easy northwest ridge. "Many parties routinely fail to climb this summit" according to Anders Ourom in the Fairley guide.

Mt. Temple is located in the Bow River Valley between Paradise Creek and Moraine Creek and is the highest peak in the Lake Louise area. The peak dominates the western landscape along the Trans-Canada Highway from Castle Junction to Lake Louise.
