about Skookumchuck Hot Springs:
[code:1]......There are five tubs, which include one very large one under an A-frame which could hold 10 people and is beautifully comfortable.  A smaller one under a half A-frame privacy screen which could hold 8 under the stars.  And three more open tubs....
The tubs are open to use 24 hours, 365 days per year.[/code:1]

Pemberton

thinking of Brandywine Meadows via 4X4 Road, here is the current TR from LIVETRAIL:

Distance done: 11.0Km    Elevation gain done: 500m

Date: Nov 03, 2013
If you want to see Brandywine Meadows in fresh snow then go now: the snow is too shallow for snowmobiles, and even skiers (though that may change this week). We walked up the 4x4 road in bright sunshine into the meadows to witness for ourselves what an easy time of it you have if you can make it to that upper parking lot. We'll try that next summer.

The snow was maybe 20-40 cm deep and largely unconsolidated. We hiked in Yaktrax; once in the meadows snowshoes would have been better but to be honest we were enjoying the peace and quiet of snowshoe-free travel :-) The highlight has to be the fantastic views across the Cheakamus River valley to Black Tusk, Garibaldi and Castle Towers, plus the mountains Whistler-way (Fissile and Overlord) and up to Wedge. All made an appearance at one time or another during the day. Sure, in summer, the road would be a miserable slog - the forest trail is much nicer, despite the gradient and mud and bugs) but it's a great way up on a sunny early-winter's day.

We met a few skiers who said the conditions were pretty bad - too many rocks and very inconsistent snow.

We parked at the first major switchback on the 4x4 road - it got too icy after that - which makes for a 4 km hike to the meadows. A few more capable 4x4s had made it a little further up but even getting that far would have only saved half-an-hour of walking each way. I dropped my custom-fit clip-on sunglasses here, so if anyone finds them I'd love to hear from you...

With the exception of one steep corner (at the second major switchback) which would require careful negotiation, the road looks perfectly manageable with our CR-V, unless the snow is hiding something. Even the water-bars (which, strangely enough, had water in them :-) look OK.

One last thing. Does anyone else see the irony in the signs saying no motorized access when this place is overrun with snowmobiles in winter?

Sloquet Hotspring

49°43.8' 122°19.5' (49°43' 48"-122°19' 30")

Located on Sloquet Creek, about 10 km up the road.

http://www.sitesandtrailsbc.ca/searc...0023&type=Site

Site Description: There is now a day user fee of $5 per vehicle. Camping is $13 a night. This is a rustic remote site, heavily treed and has 6 new campsites! The trail is steep going down to the hot springs. Please respect the hot springs-leave it better than you found it, take everything out that you brought with you. Pets of any kind are not allowed at the pools, it is important to keep the pools clean. ------The pools will be cleaned up between September 16th and Oct.4th, 2013, and may not be usable-no soaking-however, access to the hot springs will remain open to view. Please contact us if you would like to volunteer to help with the pool clean up.----- The hotsprings lure all kinds of people to this unique natural feature. Tables, outhouses and fire rings on site. Campsite is very popular on long weekends. The Indigenous Workforce volunteers are onsite to collect fees and maintain the site for the 2013 season. The area is busy with industrial traffic, drive carefully.

Driving Directions: Travel to approx. 76.5 km on the In-shuck-ch Forest Service Road (also known as Lillooet lake road), which runs along the lower Lillooet river, just North of Harrison Lake.-----The In-Shuck-ch FSR has a big construction project going on between 16km and 25km, and is only open before 8:30am, closed until noon, open from noon until 12:30, closed again until 4:30, until end of August, check the road website for details.-----You can also get there in a 4x4 via the Harrison West FSR which takes you North along Harrison Lake. Between 76 and 77km, a road takes off just North of the bridge over Sloquet creek. Turn onto this road, then take the left fork at approx. 9km. A sign board on the left welcomes you to the site. For Road updates on the Lillooet lake road, click here: http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/dsq/Enginee...nformation.htm For updates on the Harrison West FSR, check this website: http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/dCK/Enginee...Conditions.htm
