Lopez is the most rural of the three major islands...... It is also known as the friendliest of the San Juan Islands.....

Approximately 4 miles from the ferry landing you can find world-class butter clams waiting just beneath the surface to be scooped up by your shovel and steamed to perfection while camping at this State Park.

我已定了一个最多可容纳二十四人的Group营地(G1, 二个晚上，十七号入住)，我们可以BBQ/hiking/cycling,

现在是shoulder season，不好找地方，高一点海拔的地方都有雪，这个地方不错，周六的时间很宽松中午后到就可以，周边走走，傍晚BBQ小酒营火聊天，周日可以自由活动----我自己打算租个一天的自行车来个环岛骑，走Tour de Lopez的路线，晚上再接着BBQ小酒营火聊天。。。

唯一不方便的，船较少（最多144辆车）加上班次也不太多而且不可以事先预定，大家最好是多多carpool每车坐满，现在还不算旅游旺季(summer)岛上那个周末好象也没有什么大的活动应该没有什么问题吧 :roll:  :roll:

这个小岛，我感兴趣的是：挖马蚌，捡拾clams, 撬生蚝。

成本比在加国稍高，一天的LICENSE fee:20.15USD.

The tip of the spit has a larger cobble substrate with a slightly higher density of clams. The best clam habitat occurs in the muddy gravel flats on the north side of the spit. A brackish lagoon drains through these gravel beds. Clam species available at Spencer Spit State Park include: native littleneck clams, varnish clams, butter clams, and cockles. This is also a very good beach for horse clams. The best place to dig for the horse clams is on the south side of the point.

挖马蚌工具：带上一把花园铲，水桶；
生蚝很简单，就是捡拾。撬生蚝的工具：手套和生蚝刀（我家领导号称不用生蚝刀，用螺丝刀即可）

很多人都是把horse Clam当象拔蚌，我从没见到谁挖到真的象拔蚌。horse clam我基本一分钟一只，不过听传说有高手一锹一只 8)

谢谢QQ! 你真是太能干了! 前几年看过你业余时间自己打造后院的桌椅和家中的家具的相片, 惊艳.  对了这次在岛上试了这家中餐馆-Jade Fountain Restaurant不错，我们吃饭时正好碰上当地几个慈善组织和当地non-profit华人社团招待从上海来的二十位癌症幸存者和义工，挺感动的.  我孩子在Downtown的一家IT公司做Co-op对周边吃食比较熟也和我一样是馋嘴，这个周末和他一起吃了这几个都不错:

为减少camping site parking的占位及方便顺利地ferry，如能carpool的建议尽量carpool，比如：YinG两人和麦芒和WanchaiBoz一车？（all Nexus?能否自己商定？）
