JUNCTION NAMES
When discussing trail names, it is useful to have quick ways to refer to key junctions, using names that are independent of whatever we call the roads. For this, I use the standard two digit numbers based on the lat-long. Eg: Jct 58. The digits come from the second decimal place of the latitude and the second decimal place of the longitude. Eg: I will refer to the junction at 50.1570,-122.9804 as Jct 58.
Jct 47 (50.1465,-122.9731) 760m
This is where Alpine Way ends and the gated Nineteen Mile Creek road starts.
Jct 48 50.142,-1229899 1120m
Skywalk south hits Flank Trail. In this same area, you also cross Binty's trail
Jct 58 (50.1570,-122.9804) 1020m
Mid Flank trail meets Nineteen Mile creek road
Jct 61 50.1647,-123.0128 1800m
Where the Jaws heli-drop meets the South Skywalk. This location is roughly estimated.
Jct 68 (50.1692,-122.9826) 1110m
Nineteen mile creek trail crosses the continuation of the Nineteen Mile Creek Road, which is Flank Trail North on the PDF.
Jct 71 50.1776,-123.0162 1500m
This is the junction where the Skywalk South meets the Nineteen Mile Creek Trail.
Jct 88 50.1815,-122.9823 1500m
Mountain bike trail forks, one fork going to Screaming Cat Lake, the other continues toward Cougar Mountain roads. Note that according to my track log, this junction is not in exactly the same place that is shown on open cycle map. My lat long is 50.1815,-122.9823 whereas Open cycle has it farther north, at 50.1830,-122.9834.
Jct 89 (50.1848,-122.9911) 1580m
Just before Screaming Cat Lake, a rough hiking only trail (Skywalk North) branches off the mountain bike route to Screaming Cat Lake. |
