2021.01.22 Harvey North Ramp (contd.)
I had climbed Harvey North Ramp twice before, yet this third time was the most challenging. In the past, we had never touched ice screws, mostly walking up on soft supportive snow, unroped. Not this time. After six hours of having climbed 500m vertical on ice, rotten ice, snow, steep snow, often front-pointing, entirely on running / full-body belay, we finally reached this infamous very exposed exit traverse. The > 55° snow didn't look very steep to us anymore. The summit was very near.
Vera never looked down here, which was a good thing. Shows experience. You don't want to be distracted - a small mistake could be very costly.

Tip: if you don't have to bend to touch the snow in front of you, it is already 50°
