Big day it was: after leaving Grand Canyon in Arizona, passing Horseshoe Bend and Bryce Canyon in Utah ended in Zion National Park (Utah). So far we are on the road 9 days and 4,560km.

Exploring peaks of PCT, section 11. After San Jacinto and San Antonio in California, we expected same packed snow (no snowshoes needed!) all the way to the top. Not the case here..ice axes, our emergency rope and helmets came to use..and the summit of Kendall, only 50 m up still had to be left for the other time..(summer 2020?)

On south ridge of Kendall we had to call it a day - walking unstable corniced snow is not what we call fun.

This is PCT in summer.

Angels Landing, Zion National Park, Utah

The trail to Angels Landing is 2.5 miles (4.0 km) long with an approximate 1,500 feet (460 m) elevation gain. The hike is rated as a class 3 difficulty based on the Yosemite Decimal System...Since 2004, 10 people have died from falling while hiking the trail, with the most recent fatality being in November of 2019.

California Climbers' Salute at the "summit" of Mars Hill, the lowest peak we have ever "climbed", with negative elevation -59m!
