因着预报说就昨天、今天还有个好天气，所以拒绝上班的诱惑并不太难，几番yes或no最后到NO在脑子里大概也就折腾了没多少秒：毕竟多上一个班又不能让你财务自由，对吧？

昨天的一整个蓝天到现在还令人难忘，很久不见的Chief充满了新鲜感，一峰的50米rappel让我们好好地练习了一回team work的protocol：一切井然有序，完全达到了博士的要求。还有，gear up时碰到的小插曲也叫人忍俊不禁。（“这个难吗？” “不难。” 他看了看我们，想了想，撤了！—- 哈哈哈，换着是我，我也会撤的。不难？那你们干嘛还要harness呢？）

今天是10月的第一天，博士说去Smoke Bluffs练习cams的使用。出门多云的天越来越晴，就更加觉得这班拒绝得值。而且没想到平时只有我们的地方居然又来了两个group，热闹得很，看来大家都想抓住这最后的好天气、都知道机会难得，说不定今天就是今年攀岩的最后一天了。

真的哦，如果每天都把今天当作你的last day，你的人生一定会不同吧？”

谢谢博士的指导，业精于勤，正是因为你在后面不停地敲打，我才养成了今天这么认真的态度。多谢！

Time flies! Who would have thought back then that one of the hikers (the one playing chess) will become a tough high-altitude alpine climber! In 2011, her GG time was slower than 2 hours 30 minutes (!! - that's slower than the slowest time on GG, ever). Eight years later (8 is the lucky number after all!), after having climbed hundreds of alpine peaks in US, Canada, Japan, Taiwan, China, she will be standing on the summit of Denali in Alaska at 6,190m, the highest peak of North America and one of the world-famous "Seven Summits". Impressive...

Here is a tip: although MSR quality is not fantastic (brand new four-season tents break and air-mattresses leak air), their service is super good. They will exchange under-warranty broken items (e.g. tent poles) for free and fix damaged (e.g a tent accidentally ripped by crampons) for a very small fee. No receipts asked. They also can ship fixed items for only $5 to your home! Some good items for half price sold right there.

Day 3/16 (Jan 24).

After 2,294 km on the road, arriving at Mt. San Antonio ( = Mt. Baldy 3,068m elevation), California. Ranger's sign reads: "WARNING! Expect extreme winter conditions, carry ice axe, crampons and mountaineering boots". Good advice it was. Tomorrow we are going for the summit!
