Mount Robson is the most prominent mountain in North America's Rocky Mountain range; it is also the highest point in the Canadian Rockies. The mountain is located entirely within Mount Robson Provincial Park of British Columbia, and is part of the Rainbow Range. Mount Robson is the second highest peak entirely in British Columbia, behind Mount Waddington in the Coast Range.

Today went for a recce hike to Kinney Lake, Mt Robson, BC. The lake was named after a guy who claimed to be the first to have climbed mt. Robson (but he hasn't). Such is life.

Fantastic place, nice photos, but given circumstances will post them a bit later.

Tomorrow shooting for one day return trip to Berg Lake, from parking. 8)

CANADIAN ROCKIES TIP 1

If you plan to hike on parks "maintained" trails only (e.g. Berg Lake trail and 100+ others) and your goal is other than just to suffer for nothing, don't bother with heavy hiking boots, on such trails running shoes will do just fine - not only they are lighter, but also breathe better and are easier on your feet. We have hiked 195.5 km in 16 days, almost all on such trails and never touched our heavy-duty boots.

Icefields Parkway (230km) has no cell phone reception. And very few land phones. Huge Icefield visitor 's center ( 3 floors, no kidding ) has only one land phone and it belongs to business (hotel), you have to be nice to ask to use it. If your car breaks it may be a major logistical problem to arrange help. Once we helped a Chinese couple to shuttle them to the above said phone to order a tow truck. 8)
