Sounds like a grand adventure!
I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, but at Tuk, you are still over 2000 kms from the North Pole.
I have stayed at the Liard Hotsprings lodge - rooms are OK, not sure if they are open at that time of year. The hot springs would be cool to visit in the winter time - they are outdoors and the change rooms are unheated.
The Yukon Motel in Teslin is very nice. Never stayed there but the place looks nice and the restaurant food is good. If you can spare the time, I would suggest that you visit Atlin, BC known as Little Switzerland. Very pretty. Brewery Bay Chalet is the best place to stay.
Been to Jade City (a city in name only) about a dozen times - only one place left open there, a jade jewelery store, no restaurant. They may have a B&B, but I have never seen it advertised. There is a decent motel in Dease Lake, the Northway Motor Inn. Momma Z's is the place to eat.
Never been to Stewart in the wintertime should be tons of snow that time of year! The Ripley Creek Inn is nice. Apparently Stewart has one of the worlds top 100 restaurants - not sure which one though - it is supposed to be a seefood restaurant, and I am allergic...
I don't know anything about the TaKysie Lake Resort in Burns Lake, but the Sunshine Inn is very good and they have a free continental breakfast. |
