2017.05.24 The Grand Wall Rappel

Two of us rappelled the Grand Wall of the (Stawamus) Chief. An epic trip will be certainly remembered for the rest of our lives. 8)

PHOTO: A view point just above The Grand Wall is a short walk from the tourist trail. Our parked car is easily visible. From here there are at least two ways to get there - hike back the regular trail, or rappel straight down. We decided to check out the 2nd option.

We had lots of fun today and of course learned a lot. To know how to transfer the load is so important; however, it is so easy to get confused with the system if you don't have a clear mind. It took me looooong time to master this part. Also from climbing the rope to back to rappel is very challenging, but Ding ding and Gloria did great! It is so good to have a chance to review these crucial skills. Thanks a lot, Ding ding, Gloria and Bo shi!

2017.06.06 Bellygood Ledge

Stawamus Chief Provincial Park has a few backside trails. One of such "trails" is to Bellygood Ledge. We had trouble locating it - it is not easy to see the "fixed rope" but after 3 attempts located it. Nice views. No crowds.
